What this was supposed to be and what it is now

The Dreaded First Post

It was January. It's a new year, and I've got some fresh ideas. Fantastic ideas and Great content.

Fast forward to now, and that "podcast" I wanted to launch is now a fully formed LLC, with a whole EIN and everything. It's insane. If you asked me years ago if I was ever going to do it, I would've told you it's "in the plans", but that could mean anything. Literally, anything.

It all goes back to high school. Daydreaming while listening to my teachers teach.. something I now realize I shouldn't have been doing... (adhd, amirite?) planning these extreme business ventures with a former friend of mine. We had dreams, goals, and we got ourselves the means to be able to bring those dreams and goals to fruition.

Fast forward some 10 or so years and here I am solo, taking on all of those dreams and goals solo. Nothing is what I'd imagined it to be, yet everything is exactly what, and so much more than, I'd imagined it to be. We were supposed to do this together, but that's neither here nor there. Nothing to stop me from reaching the top, I suppose.

Now, Let's talk about what I'd like to get done. I've got a lot planned, and now that I've got some more of the resources to do it, there's no better time to get started. Today, I'm going to outline some of my plans for the future of Noisey Voices LLC and What we'd like to bring to the table.

Project Sandusky/VacationLand

Project Sandusky is a project of mine created from the... erm... experience that was staying in employer-provided housing as a seasonal worker... for somewhere around 7 years. While staying in employer-provided housing, I learned that:

  • Most Employees choose employer-provided housing because it's convenient
  • A lot of new employees that end up staying long term for opt into long term housing as opposed to employer-provided housing, even before the age restriction was imposed
  • Employees that stayed in employer-provided housing long term stayed because it was the cheapest option to live in Sandusky and stay employed
  • Most employees in employer-provided housing would love a low-priced, long term housing alternative with the same convenience options as employer-provided housing
And that's where we come in. It takes someone who's experienced the problems first hand to be able to solve those problems. Project Sandusky aims to provide low-cost housing alternatives available to seasonal employees all throughout the city, while keeping key services intact, such as employee transportation, easy payment options. The Answer to all of our problems?

Tiny homes. Tiny homes are inexpensive to build, require minimal maintenance, and can be a cost-effective alternative to employer-provided housing, given you have the right setup. The ideal setup would include on-site utility management (i.e. independent electricity via alternative energy), onsite security solutions, and rates tailored to fit seasonal employee lifestyle.

I don't want to talk too much about project Sandusky just yet but I wanted to give a little bit of insight as to what's coming, as the project will help hundreds if not thousands of seasonal workers seeking short or long term housing solutions.

I'd like to help reshape and build up the city of Sandusky for all future waves of seasonal workers, and help the city provide a safe, fun place for seasonal workers to relax, and invest long term into Sandusky.

Toledo.... You're next.

That's all for now, keep an eye on our socials for more content coming soon.
